Anyone else disgusted at Portland's mayor and city council?

Those are not mutually exclusive situations.
I don't think you'd argue the fact that there are jobs that are terrible and even damaging which people take because they have no other choice.
I don't think you'd argue that people would work in a dangerous, shitty, unhealthy, stressful place because they need to put food on the table.

@Northwest I've never been there, but I have family there and I've heard it's a nice town.

@Pikachu I would argue that this might be true for a job, but for an entire city.

@RedBaron Yes, it's a very nice town, and like every town there are good parts and bad parts. I find it curious that mostly people think these cities are bad and shitholes only because they don't agree with the politics of the majority not because the place is bad.

I just found your objection poorly thought out and failing to reflect what occurs in real life.
You asked why someone would want to work in a place if it was a shit hole and i'm expressing what i thought was the obvious real-world explanation that what someone wants to do is often different from what, by circumstance, they have to do.

I'm not fighting you, i'm just pointing out the flaw in what i felt was an ill-conceived objection.🤷‍♀️

Actually what i was disappointed with was not your misunderstanding/misrepresentation of what i was arguing.
I did not have a problem with you saying that (under your understanding) my objection was poorly thought out.
No, what i found disappointing was that when you encountered too mush push back you became antagonistic, attempting to trivialize my objection by suggesting that it was not earnest by saying that i was just arguing for the sake of it.
What i found disappointing was your attempt to both have your say and try to prevent me from responding having mine: " [i]I am done with your side show but I suspect this is not going to stop you.[/i] " And you succeeded in shutting down that conversation, that "side show" because i saw that clarifying my position to you would serve no purpose.
What i found disappointing, Northwest was that upon coming back online you couldn't even leave it with getting the last word and had to make a further post attempting to put your enemy in their place.

I hope you won't be so spiteful if we disagree in the future.🤷‍♀️
