@fairefoutre 'This greatness is not readily apparent'
It was apparent to one and all last week when we witnessed the obscene spectacle of the US military being ordered to gas peaceful protestors so that irreligious asshole Trump could stand in front of a church with a bible in his hand.
The government has no control over how people feel about race. It can only insist on equality under the law. It's up to us to decide who to like or dislike. We can also make it easier to be liked by being nice to everyone, regardless of color.
It would be hard for any president to fix racism in this country, the parties, republican and democrats have a vested interest in keeping citizens of all races, economic backgrounds and ages separated an thinking that one group is going to get a bigger slice of the pie than the next group if not kept in check. The rich pitted against the poor, illegals against citizens, white against black. old against young, gay against straight, it is easier to control several small factions than it is to deal with a united community.
@SumKindaMunster Oh come on now , there are plenty of French words and phrases in common English usage. It comes from having a shared heritage , of which I'm sure you were aware ..... or not.
