Can Britain be trusted?

Julian Assange is being pressured to leave the Equadorian Embassy after Embassy Officials state that months of quite diplomacy have resulted in Britain giving assurances that Mr Assange will not be extradited to the US unless the US removes the option of the death penalty.
I believe the US will acquiesce to this request and Mr Assange will be extradited to the US and face the rest of his life in prison.

He hasn't been accused of a crime that carries the death penalty.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@katielass Of course not. Hillary was cleared by the FBI. Twice.
Jullian Assange has yet to come before the courts. He is despised by the majority of US Citizens. What chance of a fair trial?
katielass · F
@katielass I meant Rosenburgs. My bad.

@Gusman If Assange had leaked terrible things on the repubs he'd be the media's hero. What I bet most media has ignored is that the repubs were also hacked but apparently there was nothing to "get" them on.

Do you mean 'unless the US removes...?'

Either way I'm tsick of his unpleasant selfrightous arrogant man costing the country hundreds of thousands of pounds because he considers himself too important to face justice in a court of law.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Lhayezee Corrected, "unless".
Lhayezee · 26-30, F
@Gusman I wasn't being pedantic, I was suddenly not sure!!
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Lhayezee Sure. One wrong word skews the whole meaning.
They’ll hand him over quick and with a smirk..
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Notmesam That is what I think will happen.

All he did, was allow himself to be used as a tool for Putin. Quite the legacy. He's not that smart, I hope he gets what's coming to him.

Not if you ask the Irish.

That guy's a pain in the arse whoever has to deal with him.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Gusman He's a pain in the ass because if he comes home they'll be expected to deal with him on the U.S behalf.
Unless Unca' Donald sees it as a political coup to get him stateside have a showtrial and be seen to 'make an example of traitors' as some will no doubt clamour for.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Picklebobble2 There are ways to expose U.S.Government hypocrisy. but the way he chose to do it, wasn't it.
He must have known that.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Picklebobble2 I'm sure he knew the ramifications of his methods. Maybe he became arrogant, thinking he is untouchable. What ever his thoughts, it is a sad situation.
I like him and believe he should stay put.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@jackjjackson No one is rushing. He has been there 6 years and the Embassy want him out. I do not wish him harm, but harm will be his future unfortunately.
For the right price a non extraction country will take him in. @Gusman
Gusman · 61-69, M
@jackjjackson That is what I was thinking. Go to a country with no extradition treaty with the US. The problem is, as soon as he steps out of the Embassy he will be arrested.
