Sovereign citizen/ freeman on the land: Can someone explain to me the argument "i'm not driving...

...i'm travelling." ?

Like, yeah. You ARE traveling and you're doing that by operating a motor vehicle which requires a license.
How is this meant to be a defense?
The only way to make that a reasonable argument is to not be the one driving the vehicle doing the traveling.
@TwiddlerofThumbs

What do you mean?
@Pikachu I guess I don't understand where the argument is coming from.
@TwiddlerofThumbs

Me neither. Doesn't make sense to me lol

In a nutshell, "Sovereign Citizens" think the law doesn't apply to them if they don't want it too. I've seen them try "I do not recognize the legitimacy of this court." They don't seem to realize, these laws and systems...they aren't requests or suggestions.

They're crazy, disillusioned. Others are just poorly informed. They hear of a way to not pay taxes "legally" and get suckered. They tie up courts by filing pages of legalese nonsense.

Probably goes back to the early days of the settlers. When they would take a coverd wagon out and cross the united states in nine months.

I think it pretains to indigenious people that were assigned to lands, that is / or was trust land of that individuals tribe. It cut out some of the bureaucratic restrictions that others have.
@jackjjackson

I'm certainly not aware of any of these arguments holding up in court

Let’s see what happens when you drive without license and or registration. @Pikachu
@jackjjackson

The cops break your window and arrest you lol

They like to show the videos and brag how they beat the system, but they don’t show you them getting their asses handed to them in the courts...
