Should Kavanaugh take a polygraph?

Apparently he hasn't taken one with respect to Ford's charges against him, even though he considers them an important tool of law enforcement.

I have no love for Kavanaugh, but polygraphs are worthless.

@OggggO That's not what Kavanaugh himself has written.
@OggggO Unreliable in that they can be cheated. They can still be failed though

@WoodyAq I don't really care what his opinion on the matter is, except in noting if he is being hypocritical, I care what the science says.

No he didn’t he said they were not reliable. But maybe we could close all courts, no juries, just use polygraphs. Polygraphs are what liars take to try and add credibility to otherwise far fetched lies.@WoodyAq

@AnneHoney In a 2016 written opinion on a case, Kavanaugh said:
As the Government notes, law enforcement agencies use polygraphs to test the credibility of witnesses and criminal defendants. Those agencies also use polygraphs to “screen applicants for security clearances so that they may be deemed suitable for work in critical law enforcement, defense, and intelligence collection roles.”

The Government has satisfactorily explained how polygraph examinations serve law enforcement purposes.
