Is Anonymous saving the country or thwarting democracy?

He/she seems to argue both that the internal resistance is saving a conservative agenda from Trump's ill-informed populism and that it is saving America from a dangerous infant with nuclear weapons.

Anonymous seems to make no distinction between the two motivations. But the first is a subversion of democracy. It certainly makes Anonymous a coward, at best.

The second denotes a massive failure of the political class, and especially the Republican Party as an institution. And it makes Anonymous the best among cowards.

What do others think?
Informants are rarely upstanding citizens with no criminal connections and spotless records.

@jackjjackson Me too. But like I said (and you agreed), the likely answer is: nothing that everybody doesn't already know.

Let me edit that slightly. What I intended to say was despite all the tumult, SO FAR nothing has happened. @WoodyAq

@jackjjackson Russian interference isn't nothing, unfortunately. Neither is using Presidential powers to settle petty vendettas. And huge deficits are still being run.

But you are right in the sense that there hasn't been a single decisive disaster yet ... just accumulated damage.

Insofar as that is due to the internal resistance, it's a mixed blessing.

Okay.. A left field theory. Anonymous is Ivanka. She is looking to salvage as much of the business as possible from two issues. One is Melania and the looming divorce, Two is the results of criminal proceedings she can see coming (who would know better) With poor polling for the mid terms she knows exactly what buttons to push to get Donald removed due to goading him into illegal acts as President BEFORE any corporate proceedings can happen. She can the take her piece of the corporate pie , including her Chinese trademarks, and be the first rat out of the family ship with all the treasure she can carry. 🤔

True. If it was anyone outside the family and if this was a group, each may be willing to sacrifice themselves, but knowing they were implicating others who would then have to front a polygraph and be discovered, I doubt they would go public. But Daddies little girl would he the only one who didn't have to face a polygraph and she doesn't give a damn about any of the other staff. This is about HER.@WoodyAq

@whowasthatmaskedman It's not a bad theory.

The other possibility is that it is some minor player nobody is paying attention to.

Anything is possible. But I always start with "Follow the money."@WoodyAq

It's like pissing on the fire while Rome is burning.

wish this post made sense; either way, the andwer to the title question is... neither.

@WoodyAq i’m not optimistic, i’m realistic.
WoodyAq · M
@SW-User Hmmm. So were a lot of people who dismissed the idea that they were marching into purgatory. Or worse.
SW-User
@WoodyAq incorrect; that is not an example of realism, it’s an example of complacency. and purgatory is merely a theory, at this point.
