Weed is hard for private companies to make a lot of money off of for the same reason supplements are. Most supplements are made from plants, like weed, which anyone can grow. Plants can't be patented like pharmaceuticals, so they can't corner the market.
It's ridiculous, just a ridiculous debate that shouldn't even be a debate. I vote we make all "drugs" legal. Let all the idiots who want to do meth kill themselves off, help weed out the waste from our society and make room for more quality humans. Harsh but damn at least they wouldn't be crowding up prisons and we could collect extra taxes.
