My first reaction is that we fought a war 240+ yrs ago so that we didn't have to covet anything from them. We kept what we wanted (some tradition, history, etc) and removed what we didn't want.

It's sort of like asking a 40yo what they envy about the parents they moved away from, after they've got their own house, kids, and career.
