I fostered and adopted three kids from the care system. My youngest has additional needs. There are a lot of children with non genetic learning disabilities who were born to mothers who were drug and/or alcohol dependent. It's a labour of love for sure. There's never a dull day. 🙂

In my opinion from what I know, autism would be more difficult to navigate than Down syndrome.

@Notsimilarreally Thanks! And I’m not sure which would be harder, her sons are not high functioning so they definitely are a lot of work. And yeah people don’t always realize how many people have high functioning autism and live a normal life.

I do to but i would have to get married and make a lot more money. Once you adopt here you dont get any support for health ins or anything the financial is all on you. Foster parents get free medical for the kids and about 400 a month for food clothing and such.
