Tonight was rough

It's hard telling a young boy he is going to have surgery on his foot. He kept saying it doesn't hurt and it was fine. He got so scared he got sick. This poor sweet boy.

We talked, we loved, we role played with dolls we hugged, we cried and we all held him, and we explained to him why this was needed.

It broke our heart when he said no I'll be good. I'll walk better please. I will daddy, Papa please.

It was a very hard night.

Tt told him he'd wear a cast just like his so they would match.

We got him calmed down and relaxed and he's asleep in Joel's arms right now. Joel is afraid to move because he doesn't want to wake him up and have to start all over.

We have to be there at 10 am tomorrow. I wish it was earlier.

This poor sweet boy of ours. He just doesn't understand why. But we got him and we'll get him though it. I hope it's ok to ask for a few prayers for our big man tomorrow.

It is always okay to ask for prayer. Always.

I know kids get scared. So do adults. We’ve just been conditioned not to show it. I have a hunch your child will be scared, but he’ll get through it. Courage isn’t not being afraid, it’s going through the trial anyway.

If there’s a special calming ritual you do with your kids, do it with him. And you have recent experiences to share. “My nose hurt so bad…but it’s better now, right? Star got hurt, but she’s better too. We’re not here to get you hurt, although it might hurt some. We’re here to get you better, and we will be here for you, because we love you and love is tougher than anything.

@Baybreeze we plan on spoiling him very much for the next few days. He's almost 10 but he's more like a 5 year old mental

He's not a big ice cream kid but he loves yogurt so we're going to get all his favorite flavors.

We're going to get him a Mario game of his choice after the surgery as a reward

@YoMomma I know it be okay. I just hate that he's so scared and thinks he did something wrong. We'll get him though tomorrow and spoil him the next few days and he won't remember why he was so scared

You know I am praying 🙏🙏🙏 I had to have four screws put in my hip when I was 12. I didn't like that so I know where he is coming from. A year from now he will have forgotten about it and be glad it's done. 😊♥♥♥

@Musicman I know it was just hard to hear him say he'd try harder to not walk on his toes. But tomorrow will be a small set back and we have a good plan to get him back on his feet as soon as possible. You are so kind for praying for my family so much. Thank you
