Yikes! I hope it goes away soon.

Achelois · F
I have loads of food allergies that started in my 30’s, I’ve been so poorly this past week because of a perfume diffuser!

Keep a food diary 📔 drink plenty water.

Tumbleweed · F
@Achelois I don't have actual allergies to the perfumes, etc, but most of them give me a migraine. Candles, deodorants, lotions... I really can't tolerate them.
Achelois · F
@Tumbleweed

Yeah most are not good for us.

I try to stick to natural herbal ones.
Tumbleweed · F
@Achelois Yes!!

As @pdockal suggests, might be a tactile response. I forgot I was allergic to certain artificial fabrics back in the summer and came out in hives. Reverting to 100% cotton dealt with the problem within hours.
Tumbleweed · F
@FreddieUK I've never had a reaction to anything other than penicillin & the red dye on some OTC headache meds. Never any detergents, soaps, fabrics, etc. But I've had a serious reaction to something this time & the only thing I've done differently is eat those lemon cookies...
MellyMel22 · F
Many foods and soaps make me itchy, but I’m not sure which. My dr suggested I take an allergy pill at night since it’s so often.

Maybe you’re sensitive to something in the cookies.
Tumbleweed · F
@MellyMel22 I think it might be the citrus mixing with my meds & causing a reaction. I haven't eaten any citrus at all since starting the new meds so that's my theory.
MellyMel22 · F
@Tumbleweed It’s good you have an idea.

If you have Benadryl or ANY allergy medication in the house, take it NOW.

Also, save the ingredients panel from the lemon cookies, if you have the package in your house.

"In store-bought lemon cookies, the following ingredients could potentially cause allergic reactions:
Soybeans: Commonly used in baking, they can trigger allergies in individuals sensitive to soy.

Gluten: Found in wheat, rye, and barley, it can cause reactions in those with gluten sensitivities.

Eggs: Often used in recipes, they can be a source of egg allergies.

Tree Nuts: Such as almonds and walnuts, which can cause allergic reactions in some individuals.

Sesame Seeds: Added to some recipes, they are recognized as a major allergen."

FDA

It's important to read ingredient labels carefully to avoid these allergens if you have a food allergy.

@4meAndyou Thank you for the info!!!
That sucks. I don't have allergies but I do have food intolerances due to digestive issues. Yesterday I had an 8hr heartburn session thanks to chocolate 😒
Tumbleweed · F
@ostfuidctyvm I get heartburn alot too. I've never had a food allergy until now & I'm not going to eat any more of those cookies for confirmation!
H1raeth · 36-40, M
Please call the medical helpline. Hopefully it wont, but just incase things get worse.
Tumbleweed · F
@H1raeth I got some benadryl
pdockal · 56-60, M
Doesn't have to be what you ate
Could be something you touched or even breath in
Tumbleweed · F
@pdockal I've gone over & over it in my mind & cat scratch fever caught my attention but the scratches aren't red, itchy or swollen. All I can come up with is the lemon cookies.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
Could be the oil u made the cookies with
Tumbleweed · F
@smileylovesgaming I bought them already packaged. It's the ones like oreos but they're lemon. I'm thinking the citrus mixed with my meds & caused a reaction.
