How single males with survival instincts would stock nourishing but inexpensive foods.

It's relatively inexpensive, I go to gym, maintain top physical strength and I don't want to spend now. When I'm on a saving spree, I stock up things like oil, flour and inexpensive but protein and vitamin, fatty acids, selenium and mineral rich foods like canned Fish.Maintaining health for better times.

that's for single males I know but let me add, dried nuts and nut spreads, walnuts, almonds, etc and peanut butter, tahini, honey. Those last long and are nutritious and dense.

@Boeing yes good idea, honey is a great idea indeed, any protein suggested that can be stored for long

@TomSimulation like Ohplease47 suggested, legumes to sprout - best are mung beans (other beans can be poisonous if sprouted) and lentils. These contain not only proteins but other micro nutrients, enzymes, vitamins that are necessary for functioning at best:) It's more than survival foods but also help your body to restore and thrive. Sprouting is easy and is the best way to have something fresh to eat, out of dried supplies.

Also stock up on seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flex seeds, quinoa (it's seed, not grain)
And dried fruits, apricots, prunes, raisins, berries..

For breakfast you can add oatmeal, dried raisins, goji berries, other berries, sunflower seeds, flex seeds, honey, cinnamon and water (milk too but water works great), mix and wait for half an hour for oatmeal to get active, enjoy:)

So we're talking Road Warrior here not Water World?
@GerOttman I first learned about sardines at a summer kung fu camp (quite a few summers ago). On a hiking excursion during non training hours there was a lunch break and the group leader took out a can of sardines. I was curious and he happened to have an extra can in his backpack and he offered it. I've been a fan ever since.
