Windows Update!!!
Does anyone know how I can sort out my laptop WITHOUT doing a full re-install of Windows.
I completed a Windows update (2026-05 Preview Update (KB5089573) (26200.8524)) 5 days ago, (it took almost 4 hours to complete, which is unusual for an update on my laptop), and ever since then my laptop has been running hot, the fan is going full speed, and my temp folder is reaching 4 GB of files within a few hours use, I delete them but they reappear, and my laptop is now very slow. I know it's the update that's caused this, but have checked in "Uninstall Updates" and I cannot uninstall this particular update.
I have run a full security scan and it found no virus/trojan etc.
I've looked in task manager and there doesn't seem to be anything running which looks out of place.
I have restarted, and also shutdown overnight then started next day....still the same problem.
Ran Windows Disk CleanUp and deleted windows update cache/temp files etc etc.
I've also used the repair pc feature in settings.
I know if I do a full re-install of windows it should sort this out, but is there another easier way?
My laptop is only 7 months old (HP, Windows 11 Version 25H2, Ryzen 5, 8GB Ram).
