QR code scanner app for Android that is ad-free and doesn't require paid subscription or in-app purchase
Nearly all of them push ads and/or have in-app purchases/subscription models. Camera app on my current phone cannot do qr codes.

I haven't found one. Most all serve ads now like they are all monetising their existence in time and space.
