Look at the notifications to see if there are any tasks, calendar items, or email that need immediate attention. Then I put it down again.

@Queendragonfly No. Just the habits of someone who forgets all appointments unless reminded. I didn't need a calendar or task reminders when my wife was alive but now I have no one to remind me I have to use technology instead!
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@ninalanyonMy great condolences ❤️🩹
I understand completely. In my calender I also put up my mother in law , and my man's and my own appointments and errands.
I keep check on everything and everyone in this family except for father in law. He is exceptional at planning and keeping track.

@Queendragonfly Thank you. It's almost six years now so it's no longer as painful as it was and I'm learning to re-invent myself a little.

My WiFi is always on. First thing I do is take phone off charger, phone in pocket, check headlines in car at work parking lot, connect to headset at work, turn on app
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@twiigss Ah yes I take it off the charger too. I forgot that detail.
You put it in the pocket meaning you get dressed and don't check your phone before ?😯

@Queendragonfly Yea cause when I take it off charge, the screen turns on so I'd instantly see any notifications if I had any
deadgerbil · 22-25, M
Look at my battery % bc have a habit of having it pretty low and then I look at notifications
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@deadgerbil I charge my battery while I sleep and when it hits 85% it stops by itself. It's a setting in most phones today.
deadgerbil · 22-25, M
@Queendragonfly I use that setting
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@deadgerbil Good!
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
1) get on email to message my SW Mistress 🥰2) Get on SW to be in touch with Her there 3) turn off my "alarm clock" :)
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@ServantOfTheGoddess A man of priorities!
Why do you turn the wifi off at night?
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@SooperSarah Radiation. And it doesn't feel right to have it on when I'm "offline" and sleeping.
There's discussions whether it's dangerous or not and I rather be safe than sorry, it doesn't hurt me and I like that I control my device and not the other way around.
Here's one sleep physician who claims it's dangerous. One of many. But he focus mainly on the router radiation.

@Queendragonfly you're surrounded by wifi signals regardless of your phone's wifi setting. There were experts that said 5g was going to kill us all too. Each 'expert' needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@SooperSarah I'm not gonna tell my whole apartment building to turn off wifi and routers every night, I know where the line for mad woman goes 😂
But I do what I can with what's next to my own body.

1. Look at my notifications.
2. Check and delete emails as necessary.
3. Three is a toss up. I either check my bank balances or come to SW.

@Queendragonfly I usually get between 100 and 200 emails a day. Drives me crazy. I am supposed to be retired.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Musicman From ads or companies or friends or what? Are they all something to respond on? And what happens if you turn off email notifications?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Queendragonfly A mixture of all the above. Fortunately I don't have to respond to most of them. It would drive me crazy if I did. I wouldn't know how to turn off notifications.

@GuyWithOpinions I check time on my watch 😊
But yeah we have a similar routine. A d were about the same age too.
The older the more likely they check emails. It's a boomer thing.
