I've just realised a detail "prediction" in that; Ting ting ting".

It seems, thankfully, to have become less fashionable, but for quite a while it was apparently trendy to give your up-to-the-minute, 21C, portable radio-telephone a very old-fashioned, metallic bell sound. Specifically, that single-burst, horribly jangly, 1940s American bell that Hollywood made familiar even to non-Americans!

My first mobile phone was a birthday present - and it was one of the most unwelcome presents I've ever received. Nice to see somebody else hated them, decades before they even existed.
