Just saw a post from someone who apparently left their purse, cell phone, and jewelry in plain sight in their car parked on the street overnight, and they were shocked to have a broken window and everything gone in the morning 🤦‍♂️

They should rename the NextDoor site the "Oblivious" site. For every useful insight or piece of news it relays, there are at least a hundred head shakers over how the poster has survived this long.

They don’t realize times have changed and people can’t do that anymore ? In the 90s my friend, who lived in Alameda, used to leave his front door unlocked. And he could. He only stopped when his relatives started coming over to raid the fridge and watch tv without phoning.
