How important is the warranty on a Laptop?

Mines just expired and sent all this info on how important it is, 'just in case'. and then freezes when I tried to extend the warranty. Which I was of two minds of spending $83 on anyway... I probably don't need it as my Internet security is up to date...

Two separate topics. The warranty covers hardware, and the internet security TRIES to protect you from malicious software attacks.

I have multiple MackBook Pros, and Apple's warranty is worth having, because they have a fantastic support program.

You should look very carefully at the details, because most companies farm it out to third parties and that's not going to help you if you run into a problem.
