How important is the warranty on a Laptop?

Mines just expired and sent all this info on how important it is, 'just in case'. and then freezes when I tried to extend the warranty. Which I was of two minds of spending $83 on anyway... I probably don't need it as my Internet security is up to date...

Very much. If any component gets damaged, they will replace. But 3 years warranty is enough. Usually defective components will malfunction within first 3 years.
