I’m thinking about getting an Apple Watch.

Anyone else have one? Do you love it, or is it not worth it? I’m thinking of getting the 8, mostly for the fitness and health features.

I like it. It's useful for me . It’s just for the not so hardcore health buff, it’s enough. Aside from health features, there’s so much more. I particularly like the handy flashlight 😅 my calendar, to do list, and receiving messages or calls without holding my phone.
also ,I can find my phone easily by just tracking it thru the watch.

@Mardrae you need to pair it with your iPhone of course. After that, there’s not much to do but just pick some features , themes for your watch…

Honestly, I hated it when I first got it. I had to call Apple support 5 or 6 times to get it set up properly. And since I've had it, it has come in useful in some specific circumstances, but it was never anything I really needed. There are a lot of things I would have preferred to spend that money on.

@DunningKruger yeah, that would be useful. Can you charge it somehow while still wearing it or do you have to take it off? Are there different bands for it you can buy?

@Mardrae It uses a magnetic attachment to charge, so I doubt if you could wear it while it charged. There are lots of different bands, but I just got a basic, sort-of rubbery band because I expected to wear the watch while walking or working out, so sweating on it.

@DunningKruger that’s smart. I work out every day so I would need that kind of band too. Is yours an 8? I was reading that they are waterproof

I have a 7. It’s ok. Nothing spectacular. I switched to apple from android because I believed the watches were better and I needed to keep track of my wife with dementia. I wish I would have stayed with android

@SW-User I barely can afford my mortgage, so I don’t know why I’m thinking of getting a watch. $14 a month isn’t too bad though, but it does add up.

I have one, but I think its battery life sucks. Only a few hours, and it needs to be recharged.

@Northwest oh, that’s bad. So you have to carry a charger with you everywhere you go?

@Northwest I just googled it and it says that the 8 series has a low power mode and you can get 18 hours of battery life

@Mardrae That's the best scenario, something you don't often run into. Bottom line though, 18 hours, means that you have to get it off your wrist to charge it overnight, nullifying many of the functions you use it for.
