For some reason unknown to me I lost access to my Wi-Fi network

When I looked into it, Nothing appeared. Ethernet - not connected.
For someone not at all tech savvy this was a problem.
Thought I would have to take my laptop to the computer people tomorrow.
Kept searching, somehow found how to at least get access to my wi-fi but it asked for the security key.
WTF! How am I supposed to know that? I do remember writing it down somewhere. After half an hour searching, without luck,
I came to the conclusion, no more wi-fi until I get to the computer people.
Then I looked at the wi-fi dongle and a deeply buried memory surfaced.
The security key is somewhere on/in the dongle. I extricated the back and there are a heap of numbers.
After trying several, success. Security key accepted, back on-line.
This tech stuff is a problem for those of us who have difficulty coming to terms with the intricacies.

@Gusman According to Google AI:A "Wi-Fi dongle password" for a PC refers to the password of the wireless network that your PC connects to using a USB Wi-Fi dongle; to find this password, go to your PC's network settings, select your connected Wi-Fi network, navigate to the "Security" tab, and check the "Show characters" box to reveal the password displayed as "Network security key."

@bookerdana Thank you. It is also written on the back of the dongle, revealed when the rear cover is removed.

@Gusman Much like a router..but I didn't know that but suspected it
It's better to change it to your convenience so that you can remember it easily

Create a file on your computer with all this kind of information in it.

@ArishMell You should back up your computer regularly. Which reminds me that I haven't done mine since before Christmas! Started it running now.

@ninalanyon I got my cellphone backed up on a usb hub 1 TB SD card. 🤣

No computer!

@ninalanyon I have backed up most of it, on both an extension hard-drive and a spare, off-line computer.

You will also find a generic security key on the back of most Swan Lager cans

@ShenaniganFoodie Tis a pity then as I only go for Boags Draught. 😄
