Are your pets polite?

Not only does BooBoo, one of my male parakeets, say “Thank You” but if someone hands something to another person and they don’t say “Thank You” he will remind them by saying it himself. He’s done it twice now.

Mine likes escort service men to the proper room. ie, had a plumber here and once she figured out he was working in the bathroom every time he walked out and attempted to walk in she led the way then moved aside right before entering so he could go in.

@cherokeepatti One cockatiel used to watch Mary Tyler Moore and Rhoda with me and I didn't know he picked up anything until the end where the credits came on and the MTM symbol. He said, very seriously, "meow" like the cat on the screen. A couple of times to tease him, I said, "What does the kitty say?" and he replied again, "Meow".

@MaryJanine haha too bad you didn’t get that on video and put it on You Tube...those birds are really smart aren’t they?

@cherokeepatti This one was.Too bad indeed about YouTube...but at the time we had him, I didn't know what YouTube was and I had no computer...then.

@MaryJanine Cockatiels are good talkers too. BooBoo likes to listen to Dr. Phil talk. The other day I had the TV on, Dr. Phil was on but the volume was turned down real low because I had been talking on the phone. BooBoo saw Dr. Phil’s face and said “I can’t change you.”...something that got said on a previous show.

@cherokeepatti Now one parakeet is chirping, and the other is saying “Thank you” as soon as he does, have done it over a dozen times.

@cherokeepatti Every cockatiel I ever had had his own phrase or words he would pick up and repeat. People say, "Oh, they don't know what they are saying - " Oh, yes, they DO. I beg to DIFFER. Why else do they react to something on TV or hears repeated in the house?

My cat is like a small dog. Extremely affectionate and loves to lick people's hands
