I was talking to a woman last night who knows a lot about the abuse that Tommy went through.
She is a really lovely and sweet woman, she's been clean for four weeks and I am really proud of her and I hope she continues on that path.
She said she saw him in my window and was so happy to see he's with me.
She said, sadly and seriously to me, that Tommy "has been through a lot of bad stuff in his short time". She mentioned the kicking and the punching that I have seen him endure too.
I am so glad he is with me now. He has a muzzle but it doesn't fit him properly so I need to get another one.
He had an "activation" moment again today but I was able to de-escalate the situation and it wasn't as serious as last time.
We have work to do together, and we will. 💙 He and I are both abuse survivors and I KNOW it's hard not to lash out in confusion.
He has a good heart. 💙

All dogs are good boys underneath the trauma responses. He will eventually not be triggered by those things, he will fully trust you, and it will be great. I'm so happy you're not giving up on him. 💕
@DearAmbellina2113 yes! I am glad I got over my fear of him. He is really starting to listen to me as well, and trust me, which is such an amazing feeling. I can see he is starting to feel safe 💙
