Ever had a dog that held a lifelong grudge?

It's more like a trauma than a grudge but, my old dog disliked black dressed people and black dogs and men. We figure he has puppy trauma from these before we got him. So I helped him feel that I'm protecting him each time he walked because he wanted to lash out unless I showed him I had everything under control.

@Queendragonfly It was hardly trauma for a dog that had no issue with confronting massive bulls and forcing them to go where he wanted. He was smarter than that. He didn't fear horses, he just didn't like them.

Maybe not a grudge...but a lifelong memory. My little cocker poo fell down into the crack between the head of the bed and the wall when he was a puppy. It took a lot to fish him out of there because I could only fit one arm into the space, and I think he was very frightened.
For the rest of his life he would walk up to that exact spot and sniff at it before settling down and going to sleep on one of my arms.

I had a dog that was terrified of the vacuum cleaner, to the point I had to keep it hidden or she'd destroy it.
