Have you ever asked your dog a question, how did the doggo respond?

I just did...
he was lying down on the sofa with me. I leaned closer to his ear while lightly tapping his back.
I whispered, I love you....
then asked, do you love me?
he twitched his mouth a little into a smile then blink his eyes rapidly.

I repeated. Same respose!

Isn't that sweet?

awwww. I do have full conversations with my cat. It's a good thing she's cute, because she's a terrible conversationist
RedBaron · M
@SarahAndSamantha Do cats have shoulders?
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@RedBaron they do have clavicles, they're just tiny. So, yes
1Dogma · F
@SarahAndSamantha she's there to sympathize, that's all that matters!
I will ask J-Hound if he wants to go get a coffee and he will go sit next to my purse with his head through the straps. Has done it since he was a baby.

I asked my dog if he could be a better president than biden. He said of course, anyone could.
1Dogma · F
@MasterLee great answer! how many barks before you understood what he meant?
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Nanoose · 61-69, M
Yeah once I asked my dog what Donald Trump's face looks like and he said - bark bark bark. Cheers!
1Dogma · F
@Nanoose he didn't like it!

I've always had conversations with my dogs. As to questions, yes, they sometimes answer. Treat? Ears up and tongue out. Walk? Ears up, run to front door. Outside? Ears up, run to back door. Did you do this? Ears down, looking at floor, ceiling, anywhere but at me.
1Dogma · F
@exexec exactly!
SW-User
Yep, but he tilts his head as if to say "wtf are you asking me"
1Dogma · F
@SW-User he's clueless!
SW-User
@1Dogma but he knows when I spell "walk"
1Dogma · F
@SW-User smart when he likes the activity!
Tugasaki · 61-69, M
I looked at my pup maybe a year old, and i said to her " call 911 " she jumped at my face and gave me a kiss.she is my 4th dog now in my life and she does not act like my previous dogs, i think she is a reincarnation of another human spirit.
1Dogma · F
@Tugasaki I heard that it could happen.
Coletracer · M
I took mine out to do her business and when she ran back up to the porch I looked at her and asked, "Did you wipe?" and she immediately drug her bottom on the boards... I lost it!
1Dogma · F
@Coletracer well, dog understands
Coletracer · M
@1Dogma I believe it!
1Dogma · F
@Coletracer I read they can remember 1,000 words, how clever!
I think animals are a lot smarter than a lot of people think.
I would rather spend time with a good dog than with most people.
1Dogma · F
@PhoenixPhail true, a good company, never complains, ever!
1Dogma · F
@wildbill83 cute!
DiegoWolfe · 36-40

At a party one time a friend became concerned that her dog had gotten high from the second hand smoke. I convinced her he was trying to communicate by blinking so she preceded to question the dog and watch for him to blink. I think this was shortly before my friend leaned over and managed to fall off the couch.
CM440 · 56-60, C
I get the same answer each time: a tilted head with big eyes and a wagging tail. I assume that is a big YES.
1Dogma · F
@CM440 I believed it is!
During my college exam days, since I used to study one or two nights prior only and needed pin drop silence, so I used to request our then pet if they will let me read and not bark too much.
They used to raise their frontal as if agreeing but wud bark whole night esp., hearing the whistling watchman.
But after my exam, they used to be the one to sit by my side throughout consoling the crying me.
They understand emotions. Most times.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
