I love dogs but.........

Living in Boston very seldom see a dog running free. I have noticed though when I am out running if a dog is free and I am running they will chase after me but if I see a free dog and slow down to a walk they ignore me. Is this normal behavior for dogs?

Yes, it is. One of the first things told to someone with a fear of dogs is, don’t run. They will either see it an invitation to play, or it will prompt their hunting instincts, and they will give chase.

🤔 now that is strange as a dog is classed as mans besst friend and crave human attention even perfect strangers[shannon27]

They are attracted to quick movement because of prey drive. I'm pretty sure.
Totally normal. Just slowdown and talk to them.
