I'm so sorry. I had to put my poor Ulysses down back in June. Same thing: he was ill and in spite everything we tried, he just wasn't getting better and we had seen enough. I know how bad it hurts. Just hold on to all the fun memories you have of her. Remind yourself of how good a life you gave her and how she brought joy to yours.

I had to do the same thing to my eldest in November. She was only thirteen but her breed's average age isn't much longer. She was honestly in lots of pain because of the aggressive cancer. We have now a new one to keep the youngest company. Both from the pound.

I cried for hours after euthanizing our last dog and also helping my son euthanize his. They were suffering so badly, but it still felt as if we were abandoning them.

I know it's one of the hardest things to have to do, but try to find comfort in the fact that you are taking on this pain so that she doesn't have to suffer anymore.
