Would this type of cat shed a lot?

Update: I submitted my application just now to adopt and i spent quite a while today talking to the owner of the cat rescue. I just took this picture now (I’ve been visiting him for two months)

you're humble bragging. I need that cat asap 😭
being · 36-40, F
@Jenny1234 wow...changes changes.. I'd be so excited to be getting a cat! 🐈
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@being well if you’ve been reading my posts for the past few months, you’ll know that I’ve been wanting a cat so badly
being · 36-40, F
@Jenny1234 yes and I believe you have found the one... I like how he's full white but ears and tail are coloured..:)
I've read he's only got one eye too, which makes him interesting.. and also nice of you to accept and apply for him like that!:))
I'm excited along with you really!

You say "shed" I say "leave proof of having impacted your life in some way"
i hope you do get him...then we can share cat pics 😻

Yup, my cat at first didn't like to be brushed then, as time went on he realized that it was for his own good and spent less time licking himself. Not to mention all the hair around the furniture and house.
Aw what a sweetheart. He can come shed all over my house! 😭
Lilymoon · F
he looks like a shorthair so may not shed as much as a longhair
Nooo, shes a good girl, she said no shedding..
Lilymoon · F
what a pretty cat
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@Lilymoon yes he is and he has one eye
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
That’s a really cool-looking cat!
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
whoa and orange tabi tail and white body?
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Jenny1234 No worries I already have 7 dogs here, a cat would be a nightmare.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@Jenny1234 Cool cat!

No actually, things would become very orderly around your place because the cat would be in charge of everything, not the dogs. You know it and I know it!
Pretty flame point.😻
Not so much that a vacuum wouldn't take care of it. If he likes being brushed it helps.

That looks just like one of my parents’ cats. He sheds A LOT
I hope you carefully introduce your guinea pig to it overtime, and don't trust it just because it is well behaved for a hour. Instinct is to kill for most cats.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@Dignaga sadly, my Guinea pig passed away a week ago but I do appreciate your thoughtfulness
@Jenny1234 Sorry.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@Dignaga thank you
TrashCat · M
Ooooooooooooooo I want to touch that pussy
Not as much as a long haired cat, but there will probably be some. He’s a beautiful cat. Awesome of you to offer him a home. 😸
SandWitch · 26-30, F
You'll find that the shorter a cat's hair is, the more hyper the cat is all the time. The length of a cat's hair is a good litmus test for the kind of temperament you can expect from a cat. Even though a longer haired cat may shed, a shorter haired cat sheds just as much hair but it's less noticeable around the house. What IS noticeable however, is the often unsettling behavior exhibited by a short haired cat, compared to a more docile long haired cat.

@SandWitch good info thank you
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@SandWitch This is only true as they mature. My long hair was a super hellion her 1st year and 1/2. She has however super mellow in her mature years. I have a short hair ginger tabby that is half her age, 6, that remains exactly as you describe but she is also the most loving of my 3 critters.
SandWitch · 26-30, F
@Gibbon
Yes, that is correct about a cat's maturity. When they're all young, they're like teenagers and are totally unpredictable regardless of the length of their hair!
