Why do cats feel the need to bring you gifts?

Had a Siamese cat when I was a teen and she’d leave a dead mouse on the rug next to my bed. My foot usually ended up in the middle of it after the alarm went up because I’d jump up to turn it off. She never left the mice at anyone else’s side of the bed, just mine for some reason.

As gross as it is you should praise them. Animals do this out of affection or because they're trying to take care of you.

cats will bring home the prey that they have hunted and killed to an area they feel safe, comfortable and secure. It may also be because they want to share their catch with their family too!
