Try what they do with kids.. Something that's not pleasant to taste and find a replacement for something that comforts you. Recognize it's like a habit at this point.
That is okay. I know people that are adults that do that. It brings them comfort.

Put something non toxic that tastes bad on your thumb before bed if you want break the habit. I don't really think it's anything anyone should judge you over though
