I Am Shy

One time a person told me the following:
"Wow! This is the first time I've met someone as shy as you!"
It pissed me off...🙄

I talked to my cousin about it and she didn't understand why someone pointing out my shyness made me feel like that.

How do you feel when someone points out your shyness??

you need to come up with a good comeback to that kind of remark instead of being pissed off and carrying it around with you...'wow, sooo, you haven't met many people then"....don't give them your power

@Fernie but if I didn't care about others and how to feel about it, then I wouldn't be shy in the first place...

And when I'm shy, it's to such an extent that my mind goes blank and I don't even know how I normally act, what I would normally say. This while I actually want to interact!
So to me it actually is a 'horrible' thing, I really don't like it.

(Sometimes I'm quiet because I want to. In that case I don't care. I feel comfortable being quiet.)

@Siebje insecurity creates shyness. We all have to work on our insecurities. So do you.

@Siebje Siebje, it doesn't sound like it's a matter of weakness as much as it is social interaction thing for you. I think you'll find that in time you'll learn how to better deal with different people and various social situations to where the shyness won't feel as much of a burden to you. You'll learn what to say or how to react to people that call out your shyness. To me I think it's a cute attribute for a woman to have - being shy, coy, or demure is what many men find to be an attractive attribute for those that take the time to see you for who you are.

I feel frustrated

Someone might say something like that as a way to break the ice with someone that is quiet or reserved as a way to see if they can get them to say something back.
Danez · M
@Siebje that's who you are and there's nothing wrong with being who you are. The people that accept you for how and who you are are the only ones that really matter. People that want to change you are only being selfish to suit their own needs and not yours. 🤗

Haha, thank you!😊

@Siebje YW. the quiet ones gotta stick up for each other. 😉
Girl, I feel the same exact way!!
