Twenty years ago narcissism was considered a mental illness. Today, it's normal to be one.

Yes. It just gave an excuse to be more that way. The whole "love yourself" trend is the same. I see it as just more social media nonsense.

“Choosing myself” started as healthy boundaries, but many now use it to justify selfishness, avoidance, and zero effort.

Every time I see that, it's only online; therefore, the answer is yes, online. It's also to the point of self-worship ... but again, mainly an online issue.

It's not that I disagree, I just wonder how much choice we have anymore.

I don't really see this, so much, as I see people who have their heads up their own wazoo. Their needs become the ONLY need, and they ignore the needs of those around them. My annoying friend is like that.

What choice do we have? If nobody else will choose me, I gotta choose me. 🤷🏻♀
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F

Yes and I blame cellphones and internet
Some are, sure. But most are doing it through a healthy light I imagine.

Some yes. Same kinda people who fake empathy to be seen as saints online ( repeated performances of kindness on open posts is a give away ) ugh the baby mommas are a perfect example - they should be getting on with their duty of care for their babies instead they use their situation to get attention from men lol snakes 🐍
