BeyondCool What are you even asking? What school improvements are needed? That should be obvious in scores of the youth of our nation compared to other nations!
I have my own ideas, but
you said we need improvements, not indoctrination, so I'm asking
you to make concrete points, rather than hand-waving talking points.
What EXACTLY do you think needs to be improved?
You did refer to two things: scores and curricula.
SCORES
So a whole bunch of people who don't like to find out their kid isn't gifted / a genius have pushed back on standardized testing.
Are you for it?
[I think we need MORE, not less, and we need to have major checkpoints where we give oral exams where kids go in front of a panel and are asked questions (it shows how and if people think).]
CURRICULUM
Teachers and profs typically DO teach the curriculum. Where have you seen them doing otherwise?
The last thing you raised is "agenda" and "liberal". Are you afraid of people becoming non-racist or no longer being fearful of "others"? And why do you think political notions of a teacher / professor bleed into teaching in most areas?
Why do you think liberal teachers / profs have created poverty, which is a systemic thing due to choices made in part by businesses (sending jobs overseas)--
shouldn't you be looking at the leanings of Business School professors for that?
But let's be concrete:
STEM teachers don't have an agenda such as you are claiming.
So how is it that people here are so bad in STEM?
And how about basic geography? Does geographical knowledge--as knowledge of where topographical and political (countries) features are located...does that haveban "agenda"? We have people who are idiots about that.
