People make weird assumptions

It's funny how many people told me sheep are ewes.

Well, sheep are sheep. There are ewes and tups (rams). They are all still sheep.

And you can't use the tups on the new lambs because that is bad breeding. So you can own tups, but only use them with the original stock, or lease them out to those who don't want to care for a tup. Eventually, you have to get new tups to get new genes in the pool.

Growing up with parents who owned a dog kennel, offered stud service and raised puppies maybe gives me a unique perspective, but it really is funny the people who just assume I'm stupid and don't know how sex or genealogy works.

I have learned almost anything one doesn't know, makes them arrogant when they hold an opinion of what they don't know about, so they act like know it all's without a clue. They will say how you are wrong, because they are waiting with baited breath to tell you when it's really about their ego

@awildsheepschase tbf, I looked it up. It sounds a bit like "Life of Pi" and "One Hundred Years of Solitude", with a bit of the movie "Brazil" tossed in.
@FoxyQueen Maybe, it could be all of those I suppose. I chose this nick while it not being my favourite novel by the author, as I wanted one friend to know it was me when I messaged him. But kudos to taking the time and looking it up :)

@awildsheepschase Of course!

They make assumptions because in their mind, they are smarter. I see that with some about conspiracy theories. Dangerous people.

@Magenta It must be sad to need that kind of ego stroke that you instantly assume everyone else is stupid and only you are smart. I'm glad I am secure enough in myself to be able to admit that I don't know all things and I always have room to learn.

@FoxyQueen Yes indeed. Ego and arrogance = a horrible combo. 🩷
