In parts of the world an introduction and the common civilities still matter a good deal!

They are an acknowledgement of a fellow human being and their are so many people who have no clue about this, no understanding, they just want to pander to their particular foibles without being in any way affable to others. They really are not the type of people who will do well in life, I think, and perhaps it is a lack of simple manners and empathy for others that holds them back in life.

What do you, dear reader, think?

Unfortunately, except in unusual situations, i agree. "We" have losing our ability to interact in person, preferring to use texting. Interestingly, we just watched a swimming meet that my 6 year old granddaughter competed in. At the end of the race, she shook hands with her competitor. That team is teaching etiquette over success! I am so pleased and surprised.
