Why do people keep books on display like they are trophies?

I read on average 2 books a week. Non fiction.

Have done so since high-school.

On average its one an done. I'll wait till I've a decent bag full....donate them.

But some....i know I'll wanna read again.

No shelves. .I..... stack mine.
