Am I the only person who thinks 21 centuries is pretty short time period

100 years each... it is so little.

Yet we humans achieved so much and destroyed so much too.

I know this isn't counting before Jesus Christ.

100 years is so little.

The vast majority of our existence as a species was in what we now call the pre-historic period.

Even in th last 2000 years, there has been a great acceleration in technology.

To use military example: A Roman Army could probably beat a medieval one with twice as many men. Both would get wiped out by a few drinks be strikes.

The rapid development has created problems because I think we lack the evolutionary maturity for this one kind of power. Hence climate change.

@Burnley123 Our morality seems to have always be falling behind. We create new moral problems with each advancement and we fail to tend to it, nor care enough to. Maybe because slow/balanced results wouldn't be as efficient for those who benefit most from the status quo. And maybe we are very comfortable not caring.

@Miram I made a posting not long ago about a guy talking about how we are racing to the end of the world by competing to grab short term "wins" on narrowly defined bands of what progress means. It was a good talk but very long
