Do you find it rude when you politely hand money to a cashier yet they put your change on the counter?

It's always a certain people group too.

I guess they're afraid they might catch some melanin if their hand comes in contact with mine 💁🏽‍♀️

I know in Japan its custom to put the money on the counter, putting it in their hand is perceived as rude. I think its because money is considered dirty because many people touch it. being from north america I do prefer if they put it in my hand just because its faster than having to pick it up, especially if there is a lot of change.

@reflectingmonkey I understand that. This did not happen in Japan. "Money is dirty". Ok, but the cashier still has to handle it in some way so I don't see that as valid.
