Why are airport staff in the US so rude?

I don’t understand why the airport staff in the US working in immigration and security so rude and strict. One guy shouted at me just because I used a tray to put my phone and wallet for security screening rather than placing it on bag at LA airport. Everywhere else in the world people are really nice and helpful.

Show me someone in the U.S. who is NOT rude.

@DearAmbellina2113 Wow. Now that was rude. You literally call some 300 million people rude because why? Self esteem issues perhaps?

@carpediem our culture is rude af. Egotistical, high-and-mighty, conceited. We think we are the top of the food chain. Read a history book and find out.

@DearAmbellina2113 I find Americans on the whole to be very polite. I understand the history, but so many really charming Americans I know. There are rude people everywhere in the world, of course.

@DearAmbellina2113 Look in the mirror. I find the vast majority to be polite, engaging and pleasant to be around. Sorry you’re experiencing the exact opposite. Maybe you’re the root of what you find disconcerting.
@DearAmbellina2113 I could show you half a dozen people in the Portland area alone who aren't rude.

@LvChris I don't see a single rude comment on this thread of the post. Then again, this wouldn't be the first time you've gotten hold of the wrong end of the stick and run with it.
