I Wonder Why Some People Are So Rude

I've noticed a trend on EP (and hopefully you don't all get bent out of shape). I think there's a large percentage of adults on here who just assume that all teenagers are stupid and have nothing of merit to say. That's fine, who am I to dictate what you should think? What really interests me is when an adult (who you would assume is mature) unnecessarily attacks a teenager on a post they made. This has actually happened to me a few times recently and I'm not really bothered by it but I do find it interesting (and quite honestly, fun). What what I've been told in the past week from adults on here is...
1. What I think doesn't matter because I'm only 14 (although he did flatter me and call me 15) :)
2. I'm the most annoying person another guy has ever met (although he actually never met me. It came about because I asked the question 'Who is the most annoying person you ever met and why?' and his answer was 'tou' *translation for those of you who can spell*...'you'). This led directly into my next point...
3. I'm stupid for caring about spelling and grammar. I guess I should start using txt spk! :)
4. Apparently, 117 lbs for a 14 year old is 'overweight' so I need to start dieting.
5. I am smug, a prick, have self esteem issues, a cretin, and 'little miss perfect.'
6. I have no business responding to rude comments on the posts I make...(that's what makes me a prick apparently).
So thank you adults for paving the way for us teenagers. The world is a brighter place with you in it.

To be honest most teenagers are stupid, I was stupid when I was a teenager but with the increase of technology and stupid social networks it's only going to make teenagers dumber. I had a 15 y/o tell me he wants to desexualise the human breasts but didn't think about how stupid, unnecessary and impossible it is.
splashUK2014
You're kind of embarrassing yourself now. You get in an argument about how 'dumb' teenagers are and she totally handed you your ass on a plate!
splashUK2014
Is that something you do when you lose an argument..hand out cookies? Man.. You're going to run out of cookies.

You're telling me, but I enjoy baking :)

While I quite enjoy creating a bit of a storm and like having a debate over topical subjects, and will put my point of view across, there is a huge difference between having a point of view and expressing it and being rude. The individuals you mention here are sad, pathetic trolls; no more, no less. Oh and their spelling and grammar was appalling too, so they don't have a valid opinion to start with!!
And 8 stone whatever is only overweight for a cat or a new born baby!!
CureEeeUs
Um... Since you brought it up... "Oh and their spelling and grammar was appalling too," should be, "Oh, and their spelling and grammar were appalling, too," if one is concerned about one's punctuation and noun-verb pairings.
Mick672
That would depend on the singular or the plural of their...
CureEeeUs
Actually, the subjects of the predicate, "were appalling" are "spelling" and "grammar." Since there the subject is plural, the verb must agree.

The people on here are so miserable and unhappy in their real life and it shows in the way they treat others. I have had to block 7 today! because I didn't agree with them and they were trolling my answers. I absolutely hate the argumentative people here. I WOULD BET EVERY PENNY I HAVE that they don't have the balls to act like this in the real world. so, you continue to speak your mind, you have the same right as anyone else to do so on here.

I agree completely! There isn't much more I can say than that! Thank you!!!
splashUK2014
Yeah, it's a little depressing. I think these people either forget or don't know how to behave in the first place. There are idiots everywhere, some of them insist on breathing to long.
InvisibleGirl · 18-21, F
'Classic Hannah?' What's that supposed to mean? 😡
splashUK2014
Easy tiger! Lol. It means that we love and respect your wish to promote proper English. :)) (Did I get away with that?)
InvisibleGirl · 18-21, F
No, you didn't. Grrrrrrrrrr.

In any form of social media you always get people who seem to get their jolly's either being antagonistic or just plain stupid.
They're out there! Of all ages!
I always find the best response is just to say thank you for your input, if only you had something of value to say.!
It also makes me laugh how so many talk of blocking people! Like it's something they deliberately set out to do!!
Every viewpoint is valid. Provided it comes from experience!
After all. That's what this site is supposed to be all about!

A few adults would treat teenager like shit because they think that we teens can't handle responsibility and adults tell me shit like "you are only 15 years old so you are still small kid" or "men only start growing facial hair at age 17" but I am 15 years old, 5'7 and I weigh 156.
But don't waste your time on idiots like that.

It seems that these people sit and wait for the young and don't interact with anyone else. I like to interact with all no matter what age they are. You have a more mature attitude than them.
InvisibleGirl · 18-21, F
Thank you! I think you're right about that! Like they think it will be easy to be more clever than a young person. I won't make it easy, that's for sure.
comfi
Good. Inappropriate posts nearly made me leave EP. I am glad I didn't. The past week has been very enjoyable.

Sounds like an Xbox live argument
Riley116
You just have to get on for a bit on a rainy day and you get boat loads of adults yelling at kids with the same arguments and kids screaming at others. 1 day on a multiplayer and you're scarred for life.
InvisibleGirl · 18-21, F
Sounds like too much drama for me! Haha! EP is about all I can handle. I can't believe how little respect adults have towards kids and kids have towards adults.
Riley116
I can believe it. No one wants to listen and everyone is right all the time in their heads. Adults get a superiority complex and kids tend wear their emotions on their sleeves more than they should.
