I Wonder Why Some People Are So Rude

I've noticed a trend on EP (and hopefully you don't all get bent out of shape). I think there's a large percentage of adults on here who just assume that all teenagers are stupid and have nothing of merit to say. That's fine, who am I to dictate what you should think? What really interests me is when an adult (who you would assume is mature) unnecessarily attacks a teenager on a post they made. This has actually happened to me a few times recently and I'm not really bothered by it but I do find it interesting (and quite honestly, fun). What what I've been told in the past week from adults on here is...
1. What I think doesn't matter because I'm only 14 (although he did flatter me and call me 15) :)
2. I'm the most annoying person another guy has ever met (although he actually never met me. It came about because I asked the question 'Who is the most annoying person you ever met and why?' and his answer was 'tou' *translation for those of you who can spell*...'you'). This led directly into my next point...
3. I'm stupid for caring about spelling and grammar. I guess I should start using txt spk! :)
4. Apparently, 117 lbs for a 14 year old is 'overweight' so I need to start dieting.
5. I am smug, a prick, have self esteem issues, a cretin, and 'little miss perfect.'
6. I have no business responding to rude comments on the posts I make...(that's what makes me a prick apparently).
So thank you adults for paving the way for us teenagers. The world is a brighter place with you in it.

While I quite enjoy creating a bit of a storm and like having a debate over topical subjects, and will put my point of view across, there is a huge difference between having a point of view and expressing it and being rude. The individuals you mention here are sad, pathetic trolls; no more, no less. Oh and their spelling and grammar was appalling too, so they don't have a valid opinion to start with!!
And 8 stone whatever is only overweight for a cat or a new born baby!!

Um... Since you brought it up... "Oh and their spelling and grammar was appalling too," should be, "Oh, and their spelling and grammar were appalling, too," if one is concerned about one's punctuation and noun-verb pairings.

That would depend on the singular or the plural of their...

Actually, the subjects of the predicate, "were appalling" are "spelling" and "grammar." Since there the subject is plural, the verb must agree.
