I am perfectly fine with people determining their own identity. Who am I to tell them who they are?
@Mamapolo2016 Biology

@NativePortlander1970 I am neither a biologist nor a pronoun chooser. Theirs is none of my business.
@Mamapolo2016 You're born either male or female, with testes or ovaries. Sure, you can have plastic surgery to make the appearance to become the other, BUT you're still either biologically male or female.

@NativePortlander1970 wrong though rare sometimes people are born with both.
@jehova Nope, testes or ovaries

@NativePortlander1970 Always best to ignore facts. They are pesky little things.

@NativePortlander1970 Nah, they are not important in determining gender in common social scenarios. Much more important is what you see and hear. We are taught to recognize men and women by certain visual features and the pitch of voice, if something doesn't fit our criteria, we evaluate it as an error and it confuses us. Their chromosomes or sex organs play no role, they are only important in the medical field and intimate relationships.
@CrazyMusicLover If they play no role, then why do m2f pay big bucks to have their penis and testes removed and surgically remade into vaginas, and f2m have their breasts removed and full hysterectomies done, their vulvas sutured closed, and ersatz penises made from thigh skin.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@NativePortlander1970 Lol, that doesn't have as much to do with gender as it has with sex and body dysmorphia. They hate their genitals and also want to intimately live as the other sex. If you talk to a cashier who looks and sounds as a woman, how is it important to you what she has in the pants or what chromosomes she has? If she passes it wouldn't even occur to you that biologically it could be a man.
@Mamapolo2016 that isn't the problem. the problem is that he/she/they/them want us to say what ever they wish at that given moment. it is exhausting and silly

@LILY61 I haven’t found it so.
@Mamapolo2016 lucky you

I agree... I don't want to tell them who they are. Who am I to do that? That's best known to themselves.
However, I am someone to tell them who I THINK they are.... and they should be perfectly fine with that, as I am fine with them telling me who they THINK I am.

@chilloutab2 That’s out of my jurisdiction. In fact, I don’t HAVE a jurisdiction.
chilloutab2 · 46-50, M
@Mamapolo2016 We all have the jurisdiction to mind our own actions... My action, which is perfectly within my jurisdiction, will be to tell them who I THINK they are. What they consider themselves to be is no concern of mine and also outside my jurisdiction.
On the flip side, it is in my jurisdiction to hear who someone THINKs I am... as it is in everybody's.

@chilloutab2 I don’t feel perfect enough to judge others.

Correct. No one is! I agree!
Let's not judge. I would not be so presumptuous as to judge others. I will just restrain my judgement and jurisdiction to my own self. To me my way... to all others their own ways.
