I never fully understood these memes about reaching self awareness at age 5

When I was 4 I was coloring in the dark in the living room.

My first memory is of me drowning and my sister pulling me out of the water.

I'm not sure I'm sold on the 5 years old thing.
All I remember from when I was 5 was getting caught painting the walls with my own feces.
