Why do you say you're fine when you're not fine?

For me it's usually because:
1. They just don't get it

2. They suddenly want to play a game of 20 questions

3. They info dump you with a butt ton of suggestions you're already trying

Or

4. Just wanna be left alone, and sometimes saying you're not fine makes them hang around longer like a bad smell

I think saying you’re fine when not fine is just a knee-jerk self defense mechanism.

Being vulnerable leads to others preying upon those who are weakened. So I believe we’re all subconsciously wired to push things like that into a corner.

Many people in life have been taken advantage of in cult like situations for exposing that side. Or if you’ve watched TV shows like For My Man… Even get caught up in toxic relationships with bad people by showing that vulnerable side.

It’s basically a huge risk factor so we mostly are better off by not allowing just anyone to know when we’re vulnerable like that.

Even AI has been responsible for certain people killing themselves. Convincing them that “killing themself will be good for the environment and a noble sacrifice of their carbon footprint…” Meanwhile Taylor Swift takes off in her jumbo jet for the third time this week and their suicide is absolutely null and void the first second that jet is in the air…

So really, it’s not a bad thing to close others off from that vulnerable state. We often times work through our own issues better by ourselves, than when others get involved…
