More than 20 percent of your healthcare force are immigrants. This is because most people who were born in the US cannot afford US based medical training. It is way cheaper to graduate elsewhere and then only pay for an equivalence in the US. And then get recruited.
Still you have clear shortage in staff.
The solution is to address the high expenses and access to higher education. If you stop hiring foreigners, you will be dying like bunch of flies and face more loss in workforce. More loss in healthcare sector. You have to first open access to medical school and compete by merits not financial abilities. Your very lives for now rely on immigrants' influx.
Just my two cents as someone who gets jobs offers from North America and other western countries, and worked in the context as an immigrant.

@Miram As always , you're correct about these things

Most migrant farm workers make about $13 hr and work 40+hrs per week, seasonally. They have little to no Healthcare. Most are here legally, and most are men with families.

No human being is illegal in my eyes especially because they stepped over an imaginary line in the sand. I find it ridiculous. No one owns the earth and no one owns a country. People are just people, good and bad who are running from something or running towards something. And you never know where you will end up! Ask the good people of Louisiana who became known as REFUGEES in their own country during Katrina.

The secret is that they don't want to get rid of the migrants that do that work. The real purpose is to have the migrants so terrified of getting caught that they won't report labor abuses to authorities. It's a way to keep the labor cheap and subservient.
@ViciDraco makes me sick

@pripyatamusementpark it's diabolical.
They prefer stealing people and forcing them into slavery. More profitable.

Might be the reason a couple of prison stocks soared after he got elected.

If they’re going to pay taxes, let them stay.
@Adogslife agreed
I'm not sure he'll actually get rid of any that are already here

NGL, there's a perverted justice side of me that looks at people close to me who I think had the most ignorant moment of their lives and kinda can't wait until "they come for them and there's nobody left to side with them."
@MethDozer that makes sense ..
@HannahSky I didn't know wtf he was talking about
