But not everyone wants to form a connection with you.
Some are silent observers.
Others are stalkers.
The rest are busybodies who have nothing better to do. Your life is a source of their entertainment.

I've come to learn over time that these interactions online are fleeting and at times superficial at best ...sometimes it's best to keep it that way when so many are flakey and untrustworthy

Answering doesn't mean showing interest in the user posting question. Rather, many times, it is done to emphasise to one's own subconscious and at times, just for one's Own enjoyment and even understanding.

While I do not know you, I would ask, what do you do to keep the connection alive? You sit there passively and wait for the other person to do all the heavy lifting?

It's a conversation, it has ebb and flow. Both sides need to work to keep it going.
