does someone ever drop a detail of their childhood that makes you say "oh, that makes sense"
my roommate said his dad never apologized when they were growing up. this is something he also seriously struggles with

My dad never apologized for the damage he did us kids and my Mom, if that's what you're getting at.

@HumanEarth just if you hear a detail about a person and realize that's something that made them into who they are today. ie, someone really likes sunflowers and then you learn randomly one day they used to grow sunflowers with their mom. it doesn't have to be about apologizing, it was just my example that made me think of this question
