That is why I prefer my own company - not interested in any friends

@OriginalNedKelly I was like that too, but its lonely now with my spouse is gone, my very best friend.
I don't have the best relationship with my son and my daughter will always be like a teenager ,because of her developmental disability.
I have my siblings, but they are all older and the probability of me outliving them is most likely outcome.
I made friends along the way, but when I moved, lost most of them.
I do have friends here.
I wish now I would have kept more of my friends.

It can sting when you want to be a part of something, but it’s not something I fear. As you become older you become more adjusted to it so the detour it brings doesn’t have you go too far out of the way before getting back on the path of moving forward.

I'm not afraid of rejection. I just don't like how it feels but I don't let that stop me from putting myself out there. Rejection is a part of life and that's okay.
Pomegranates · M
I am absolutely cool with it. No buzz in it, if the other person doesn't feel the same way about you as you do for them. Also, it's better to tell some one up front how you or they feel, rather than playing games.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
No, we can't click with everyone, it's only right if it's right so far better to be rejected if they don't feel the same.
Cowboybob · M
@PatientlyWaiting25 SW prepares me well
Strongtea · 22-25, M
Yes, to be honest I am, it feels horrid and it does upset me. I’m trying to get better at dealing with it though.
Nope, I grew up rejected by everyone tho. Now I'm questioning the real ones who accepted me for who I am.
peterlee · M
No not at all. Was rejected several times in my youth. I learnt the hard way.
It still hurts though. You move on…quickly. Their loss, I wish them well.

No. Absolutely not, I have never been rejected by anyone romantically . I’m afraid of attracting the wrong person, which I always do.
H1raeth · 36-40, M
Every no is one step closer to a yes 😌
(I must clarify, that I don't mean with the same person, if I get no, its done and dusted, I move onto the next person)

No. My whole youth was full of it, so much so that I'm pretty Teflon to it at this juncture. Lol. It's just part of life now and definitely best to not handle it like a nutcase.

I am. But it doesn't stop me, it just slows me down some.

That's why I've written 4 novels, 4 novellas, and a bunch of short stories over the last 17 years and never submitted any for publication.

Afraid? No. But it does hurt when it happens in some situations, it's a natural human reaction is it not?
Casheyane · 31-35, F
Not anymore. But it is more truthful to say that there aren't many whose opinions I still care about.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Yeah. If it's something I really want and care about, definitely.
Tumbleweed · F
No. I've learned to hope for the best but prepare for the worst...

No I’m so used to being rejected it just rolls off my back.
I don’t know
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Not anymore it really doesn't matter that much.
If something is rejected then you move on to something else.
