What kinda crowd do you think i wouldve been a part of based on these artists (some may not be 80s):

There really weren't that many cliques. You had the brains, jocks, and metalheads, with the "popular" people who listened to dance/pop. If there was a alt/goth group, Depeche and The Smiths would have fit in there. GnR came out in 87/88, so that was late 80s and so would have been grouped in with Metallica. Skynyrd fit into the "classic rock" thing of Beatles/Who/Stones/Aerosmith. Cameo and MJ would have been pop(and the only Cameo track would have been Word Up).

Beach Boys probably fit more into Classic Rock, though their experimental phase skews them off into the alternative crowd. They have made nearly every bad career move known to man and they still have a huge following; I can only think it's because they own summer and have peerless songs like God Only Knows.

@uncalled4 Intresting. Ive just been curious as to who i mightve been if i were a teen or a YA then. If it had been like my actual HS experience, i could probably get along with a little bit of every group except for the jocks (because ew) and the brains (because the ones in [i]my[/i] school always seemed intimidated even though i tried to make connections). I did comfortably dress in simple tshirt and jeans with a little dash alt influence so...idk maybe id be in with them. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Thanks to my parents the Beach Boys will always be a part of my household lol

@KazTheRunaway I stayed mostly with the metalheads, but at the end I had friends from all places. I had no idea that it was an issue until I invited a bunch to a party at my house. They did NOT get along. Oops.

@uncalled4 lol. I imagine some of them mightve asked, "what do u see in them?" I remember befriending this emo kid in senior year. He had a hunch, wore oversized tshirts, and said the weirdest shit sometimes. We had our last class together and wed walk for a bit on my way to meet my friend and the look on her face when he didnt part ways was hilarious.
