Double-sided tape

Sometimes I wonder. Am I intimidating... offputting... or some mixture of the two? All my life I've prided myself in being a confident individualist. Never conforming to the masses and always happy to do my own thing. I've always kept a small group of friends that change with the seasons (typical Gemini), but i always figured that was because i was fencing everyone else out... but what if I'm the one being fenced out. This has never really occurred to me until now.

I've always felt like the "content loner". Like it was my call... but is it really?

It's one of those things that suits us until it doesn't. As we age it seems that making friends gets harder, so having rotating friends as the seasons change tends to cause that group to get smaller and smaller until it becomes difficult to have even one or two. And it usually isn't until that point that we realize we've never really been loners. Our need for others was less and allowed us to keep more space between people, but still needed them there.

@ViciDraco I feel this. Perhaps it has been a need all along.
